The Official Field Manual for the End of the World. It sounds real serious, but it's a rather humorous book. It's a history on soapbox-standing prophets saying the end is near. It has a apocalyptionary, history of end of the world prophets, and candidates for the antichrist. It's a very interesting read with funny comments. Reading about all the nutcases that have tried predicting The End was very funny, especially when it points out all the famous wackos that founded the major cults of our time. I hope people who are members pick the book up, maybe they'll finally learn why they are called a cult.
Are all cult creators discussed, or just the cults that haven't been around for a long enough period of time to be called religions (Catholicism, Islam, Buddism, etc...).
The only difference between a cult and a religion is the level of public acceptance it receives.
Well the word cult really isn't used too much. Everyone is mentioned though, from Joseph Smith to Billy Graham. Even Bill Gates gets mentioned, in the Antichrist candidate section.
